As somebody who was shortlisted for the Orange Prize a few years ago (under my realwork name), and who was told by three of the five judges that I was an extremely close candidate for the top prize, I have to point something out:
the bookies are always wrong on this. They don’t understand anything about the way this prize, or the literati think.
