Publishers Weekly: “After the book was condemned by booksellers (many of whom said they would donate proceeds to the victims’ families), media critics and even pundits from Fox News, News Corp. announced in a terse statement that the book and TV special have been dropped. Murdoch said: ‘I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project. We are sorry for any pain this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson.'”
The big question: Is Judith Regan truly sorry?
I agree that this was a sick stunt by a desperate New Corps in the first place and in very poor taste. However, isn’t this the first time in a very long time that a book has ever been pulled because of the content? For plagarism, yes. For pretending your book is memoir when its fiction, yes. But simply for the content alone? Dangerous precedent? Or….???
I feel like the big question is: Isn’t the middle east more important?
Spot on fairest. Agreed.
